LDN for Crohn’s & Colitis

LDN has been clinically proven as an effective treatment for Crohn's disease. Crohn's and other inflammatory bowel disease "IBD" patients are some of the most commonly encountered patients that come to LDNdoctor for consultations and assistance with getting their symptoms under control.

Crohn's disease is part of a growing number of auto-immune conditions and is indicated by inflammation of the gut and digestive tract.

One of the most important and unique processes of LDN is its ability to reduce inflammation throughout the body. Low-dose naltrexone works by inducing a short blockade of the body's opioid receptors, in a sense tricking the body into experiencing a shortage of endorphins, the body's natural opioids.

When the body increases opioid production to compensate for its perceived lack, the result is a regulated immune system and reduction of inflammation. Reducing inflammation in the gut in turn helps to improve and even eliminate the pain, malnutrition, diarrhea, and inflammation that typically exist in Crohn's patients.

LDN has been proven in clinical studies to be safe and effective at bringing improvement and relief from symptoms to patients, as well as induce complete remission in a significant percentage of patients.

It is my clinical experience, having seen and followed up with hundreds of Crohn's patients and prescribed them LDN, that LDN is one of the safest and most effective treatment options for those suffering with this debilitating condition. The vast majority of our patients who combine a healthy, intelligent diet with LDN achieve significant improvement and often complete remission.
